Staff Notice
You girls in gilding. I know that you are young and like to enjoy yourselfs,
but this work is urgent and I have to employ skilled workmen and they
do not care to be kept waiting when they want more work because their
wages depend
upon it. And I do not care to be kept waiting because I have orders. So
you will kindly remember that there are rules and the rules are that when
you work you have one lunch hour and there must always be someone working
while you are not working at lunch time. You have fifteen minutes in the
morning and fifteen minutes in the afternoon and that includes the time
for boiling the kettle and for washing up, that is quite clear, and should
be quite long enough for anything else you have to do unless you are sick
in which case you should say so.

YOU GIRLS IN GLIDING
I caught this morning morning's Minny, king-
dom of Dayna's dolphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Fiona,
in her riding
Of the rolling Lena underneath her-Steady 'er,
and Streisand
High there, how she rung upon the rain of a Winifred
In her ecstasy! then off, off on the swing,
As Kate's heels sweep smooth in a moment: then
Pearl in Gliding
Rebuffed her gold ring. My heart in Heidi
Stirred for a bird, -- the nerve of, the bastardy of the thing!
Brute Betty and Valda and Agatha, oh, er
Bride! Plum! Here!
Bertha! ANNE-the fire that breaks from thee then,
a billion
Tons more lovelier, more dangerous. O my Jennifer!
No wonder about it: Shere Hite makes Paula damn silly-
Shy, and blubbering, ah my dear,
Phil, gather yourself, and go off gallivanting.
